About the Role
This position is responsible for the full contract lifecycle and ongoing management of HCP agreements, including partnering closely with the CEO and internal stakeholders to develop and manage the execution of a variety of HCP agreements while applying legal and contracting expertise. These contracts include but are not limited to pricing agreements for Hospital, IDN’s, and Government, capital equipment agreements, service agreements, evaluation agreements, and rental agreements This position will support pricing initiatives and contract data integrity.
Responsibilities

Manage and oversee all aspects of contract matters, including the lifecycle of contracts, from contract request to execution.

Manage negotiations on Master Agreements and custom templates or those requiring extensive modifications and identify potential risks to the business

Prepare, review, and respond to new contract submissions and amendments to existing contracts with customers, which may include distributors, GPOs, and hospital organizations.

Develop and maintain contract templates, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Independently perform 1st pass redline responses to agreements utilizing common contracting methods and approved processes.

Ensure efficient fulfillment of contract requirements while aligning with company policies, legal standards, and customer specifications

Evaluate contractual terms, mitigate risks, and negotiate on behalf of the company.

Serve as the primary point of contact for diagnosing and resolving escalations, ensuring swift and effective resolution

Track and drive contracts to resolution, including identifying remaining contracting issues, identifying appropriate stakeholders to reach decisions, and convening meetings to drive efficient decision-making.

Regularly audit and maintain comprehensive contract records to ensure compliance

Monitor contract performance, including tracking key milestones, deliverables, and payments.

Manager process improvement projects (templates, standard terms, system updates, etc.) to drive operational efficiencies and standardization throughout the organization

Maintain accurate and up-to-date contract records and documentation.

Follow ethical standards in all activities. Ensure compliance with laws and company policies during contract negotiations and daily tasks.

Provide leadership and support to functional and cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines are met and work is performed to high-quality standards and in an efficient manner.
Experience Required
-
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or relevant field
-
Experience in contract management, preferably in a similar industry or organization
-
5 + years of experience in biotech/pharma drafting and negotiating a wide variety of contracts
-
Must have experience with the healthcare contracting landscape, including knowledge of Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), or experience within the medical device industry
Experience Preferred

Juris Doctor or Paralegal certificate

Experience working with contract management systems platforms.

Knowledge and experience with healthcare compliance and ethics guidelines
Skills, Knowledge and/or Abilities

Thorough understanding of contract law, including formation, interpretation, and execution

Full knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare regulations (e.g. HIPAA and Sunshine Act)

Strong negotiation skills with a focus on achieving favorable terms while nurturing positive relationships and achieving win-win outcomes

Strong knowledge of contract law and legal principles

Evidence of strong strategic thinking, analytical, planning, and organizational skills.

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively communicate complex information to stakeholders at all levels

Proficient in using contract management software or tools

For California, the base pay range for this position is $90,000 to $130,000 (highly experienced). The pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors (e.g., qualifications, skills, education, prior experience).
